Epix Gen 2 won't pair with Google Pixel 7 Pro

Hey all, has anyone got any suggestions for this issue?

I upgraded my phone and now have a Google Pixel 7 Pro (previously a Pixel 6 Pro).

I have not been able to sucessfully pair my Epix Gen 2 with my new phone, the Garmin app on my phone does not detect/locate the Epix and eventually after around 5 minutes it does claim to have found the Epix, the the pairing fails.

The Epix firmware is up to date, I've updated all the maps and stuff with Garmin Express. I've re-started it.

On the phone, I've cleared the cache, then tried uninstalling/reinstalling. There was an update to the app so I have the latest version now.

Both phones were on Android 13 (albeit different versions, new 7 Pro is more recent). The bluetooth version on both phones is the same( 5.2, A2DP, LE, aptX HD).

The Epix does still sync with and connect with an old Android phone (a Pixel 4).

I guess the next steps will be contact Google support and/or Garmin support, factory reset the Epix...

Thanks :)

  • Thanks , I did think of that too!

I have just solved it - I found reference to "Adaptive Connectivity" in the Fenix forums.

I switched off Adaptive Connetivity on the Pixel, rebooted…
