HRV status on new watch

Hello,

I’m considering ordering a new Epix 2 this week. I understand that it can take a few weeks (19 days?) before HRV status displays any information as a baseline needs to be established. Are you still able to view the nightly raw HRV numbers and graph prior to the 3-weeks, or is absolutely NO HRV data displayed until then? I was hoping that I could view all the individual recordings and graph right out of the gate. Thank you.

Yes. You will be able to review the HRV Nightly Average data every day, but no Status until a Baseline is established - which took 16 days in my case.

Are you able to see all the individual data points throughout the night and scroll across them? Thank you.

Almost.
On the Watch you can see the full graph from overnight in a single screen (on which it highlights the low, high and average)...there's no way to scroll back to the detail from previous nights.
You also have access to the previous 7 nights overnight average.
(with current production firmware)

On GC on the web on the Daily Summary screen, you get to scroll back through the 5min interval's in that overnight graph to see the exact data - and can scroll back to previous days.

Same for GC Mobile, which is probably the best option for looking back through multiple days.

I'm not sure how actionable HRV Status is though. Mine has only been in the green constantly, what do I do if I go to one of the status outside of the benchmark? Go to bed earlier / drink less alcohol / no idea! ?

Thank you. Does it provide you with HRV numbers during the day or does it still just the “stress” score / graph with is I guess is somehow tied to HRV.

No, the only HRV data available are the overnight data.

Thanks for the support. I’ve ordered a new Epix 2 and hope to have it by end of week. I was fortunate enough to get a $150 discount on the black titanium sapphire model through my daughters company. I’ll need to figure out within that 30-day return window if it’s a candidate for replacing my AW8.

Go for an 18hr plane ride, with little to no sleep - guaranteed to tank your HRV status like mine too, in which case yes it goes to unbalanced.

Drink 1.5 bottles of wine and 3 tumblers worth of a whisky - and yes it will tank your HRV status too.

As long as it tanks it outside your basline range (which does change), then yes it will give you different status i..e Low - thanks to just arriving home after an 18hr plane trip with little to no sleep (not enough to trigger sleep tracking) and high stress levels for virtually the whole time.

I upgraded my watch from instinct 2 to epix 2 and i guess it has to re-learn my baseline? Is there a technical reason for this? Hoping garmin can chime in

The technical reason is that HRV data is not yet covered by TrueUp.
