What you need to do is turn garmin's (brand new) Running Power OFF. This will allow the (existing) stryd connect IQ to work just as it did before.

Wait. So it's 100% confirmed that at some point in the future there is a plan to allow Stryd as a supported accessory with this new (lets call it) 'native' power functionality...so will be able to use Stryd and NOT have to use up an IQ field?

It's confirmed (by dc rainmaker, though I am not aware of any other sources) that Garmin has stated their intentions to allow third party "running power" sensors to feed natively into FIT data. This requires support first by Garmin to even enable this, then Stryd might then need firmware changes to follow whatever specs Garmin provides.

Even though I am a long time stryd user, and I would love to see power data from my stryd into the native Garmin power fields, I don't see how both could be compatible considering the huge difference between their respective reported power values (although both are consistent on their single level).
I means either Garmin or Stryd would have to change their calculation algorithm completely, and I don't see any of them do that in short term (but maybe I'm wrong ! We'll see)

This is my thought too. Unless there's a callibration offset that can be applied to normalise the data, it would be a complete mess.

You have to use one or the other...and if you use Stryd, you better disable wrist based power if you're running without your pod unless you want your data screwed.

Of course, the answer is likely...Stryd will only update their CP based on data that has found its way to Stryd (which Garmin wrist power wouldnt), and Garmin would only consider Garmin generated data in their calculations...so neither provider has or owns a problem, its just the poor users left with a difficult decision to make.

How do you turn off Garmin Running Power? I can't find a setting anywhere for this.
