Garmin EPIX 2 turning on and off by itself

Hi EPIX2 Users!

It goes without saying that this is an awesome watch and I don't regret having paid and arm and a leg for it. However, on two occasions the watch has turned off and on by itself and this is something I think shouldn't be happening right?

Has anyone else experienced the same issue? BTW, the software it is on is 9.33

Not heard of that issue as a typical known thing. Try updating the firmware to the latest version and see how you get on, if it keeps doing it then you could try a full factory reset and then after that it might be exchange time. Hopefully though it's just a glitch in the firmware.

Check if you have a problematic app installed from store. It happens one time to me on my garmin 5 and i found an app cause that problem.

Yes, while playing golf today my fully charged Epix screen went blank. After I got home I got is back on after pressing the Light button for 20 seconds. I am running 9.33. i have had other glitches (never had with my Garmin S62). I have done a full factory reset.

I am not impressed so far - my 2 brothers have the Epix and have had no issues.

9.33 is a pretty flaky firmware version (I had some pretty bad issues on it), definitely worth updating to the latest which (for me) seems way more stable and brings the watch back to what it should be.

I just upgraded to 9.36 and will try it out today on the golf course. I am optimistic. Thanks.

I'm experiencing random shutdowns on my fenix 7, maybe similar issue? https://forums.garmin.com/outdoor-recreation/outdoor-recreation/f/fenix-7-series/309851/random-shutdowns Mine don't turn on automatically though, remained turned off.
