Loving the Epix 2 but wishing there was a X like the Fenix line

Loving the Epix 2 however, I would've bought an X model hands down if it were available. A much larger battery and an LED flashlight like what the Fenix line has would be a fantastic addition to the Epix as a flashlight has so much utility even for someone who isn't doing night exercises.

Thanks all

  • Take my money for that.

  • I hope that the next Gen of the Epix will have an X version with a flashlight. I owned a F7 and an Enduro 2 and I used the flashlight almost daily. This is one of the most useful features Garmin added to a watch...ever..;-))

I have a feeling that, when Garmin next release new models, (which I think will include the hardware to enable ecg across this range), we will see the Epix go, and all the Fenix range include OLED. I think they will keep the Enduro as a MIPS screen though.

  • and all the Fenix range include OLED.

Don't paint the devil on the wallScream

  • That makes a lot of sense, since Fenix and Enduro are basically the same thing. Keep the Enduro name to go along with the long battery life of the MIP screen. Hopefully the amoled Fenix will use between pixel solar charging to beef up that battery life just a little bit.

  • And what about the Tactix? The problem will be to have a small and medium size Enduro, unless they make real advances in downsizing the battery without losing much of its charge. Fenix, Tactix and Enduro share pretty much the same main hardware and still have their particular fanbase. But in order to counter the Ultra threat, Garmin would need to make the Epix a stronger competitor against Apple. I still hope to buy the Epix 3X with a blue/white flashlight some time next year..,-))

  • I am more looking forward to a more bright (2000 nits?) screen upgrade for improved outdoor visibility and some awesome color usage with shadows and such in their native watch faces. Otherwise my next move will be back to a MIP screen. Addition of LTE is also high on my list, so I can leave my phone at home while using livetracking on long runs

  • Agreed 10 billion times. I almost didn't buy the Epix because of that and finally changed my mind as no 51mm version seems in sight and as I felt compelling improvements justified the move vs the F6.

  • I think the Tactix might be dropped in the future and agree Enduro for MIP, Fenix for OLED. But what do I know :) ?

  • If the Fenix 8 should get an OLED, I'm out.
