eBike support - cannot find sensor on epix 2

As there is eBike support added to epix 2 Beta firmware, I wanted to give a try.

I use my eBike (Shimano E7000 display) connected to Edge 830 without any issue for years, but I'm unable to pair it on epix 2 with FW 9.33, whatver I try to do, is there any workaround or fix?

Support for the eBike Profile doesn’t mean support for the private Shimano Steps profile.

From the log I'd assume it should work, as Shimano is using ANT+...

"Full eBike support' feature which lets users connect to ANT or ANT+ compatible ebikes"

Shimano STEPS is even mentioned on the product support page.

Steps is a private ANT(+?), only because it used the wireless standard doesn’t mean every device can make use of the data. It needs to be supported explicitly.
i can’t find any mention of it in the Epix manual (wich mentions EBike as a sensor) nor in the change log -> not supported.

Assuming that it has to be supported because the 955 supports it is like looking for the morning report: misleading.

It's just weird it is fully supported on 3-year old Edge 530/830 out of the box, but not on latest fenix/epix generation, if eBike support is added

Since Garmin doesn't provide any information other than "added eBike support", what option does one have besides making assumptions, though?

Maybe look at the manual. It’s confusing because Steps is not EBike, but it is there.

Why does my old FR60 connect to my C2 rowers with PM4, but not the Epix Gen 2? Because they choose to not implement it.

The Edge division knew that Steps is different from eBike because that are Bike Guys. The Outdoor(Fenix/Epix) devision doesn’t know while the Sports & Fitness guys do.

They don’t like to look above the rim of their plate at Garmin. It has always been this way, knowledge isn’t shared between neighboring divisions

It's confusing because the manual is incomplete, missing the "Using an eBike" section.

Again, we wouldn't have this problem if we had more information, but sadly that is not the case.
