First time runner - how best to use Epic for Couch to 5K?

I've been using the Epix for walking/hiking and love it. However, I thought I may try using it to help me start running.

Can somebody explain how best to use it and a coaching app on the watch or phone and earbuds for prompts please? 

I don't know if I should use an Android app and earbuds paired to phone using a C25K app for prompts and use the watch for logging, or if I can/should do it all using the watch and earbuds, if so how?

I need this to be as painless as possible (tech wise) so I have no excuses to just remain on my couch :-)
