v9.36 Official Software Fast Battery Drain

I'm going through the battery in 24-48 hours. No apps or fields installed. No GPS activities. Also having sync issues where I have to kill the connect app on Android to get it to sync. I had the same issues on beta now it persists into the production release

  • No, factory reset is not 100% garantie !!!

    I tried and unfortunetely the drastic 200% drain is still here...

    I also tried other options seen on the forum :

    - Desactivate SatIQ = no fix

    - Suppress many widgets (glance), keeping only calendar and notifications (!!!) = no fix

    - Back to stock watchfaces = no fix

    - Desactivate Strava / physio true up = no fix

    Very sad ! !!! 

    when I see Garmin making joke on new Apple watch battery life... I recommand them to spent time and energy in fixing this mess and respect the datasheet of their (expensive) products !!!!

    The best thing to screw up Apple products would be to offer us à New firmware... with cool optimisation to INCREASE by 1 or 2 days the current datasheet battery life.

    I have never seen a Garmin representative "...making joke on new Apple watch battery life..."  Where did you get this impression?  Or did you just make it up?

    I do agree however, that comparing a smartwatch with 60 hour battery life to a dedicated workout watch with some smart features that has battery life measured in weeks, is perhaps misguided.

  • Agreed.  That's the sign of a nervous company.  Best to keep your mouth shut and focus on your own product line.  If you compare similar product lines like the Epix 2 (similar display) the current battery timeline isn't that far off.  Some marketing moron at Garmin probably doesn't even know about their battery problems.

  • Steve Jobs sacked incompetent people. It's well documented! Garmin operating in silos. Left hand and right hand disconnected from the body let alone the CPU.

    I am travelling at the moment and need to recharge every day Yesterday it run out and shutdown. Pay wave for payment??? 

  • Hey Garmin Chris - Maybe Garmin should start processing some refunds for these $1000 pieces of garbage that they knowingly broke with a buggy update!@

    Pretty sure these came with at least a 1year guarantee, they are not performing anywhere near the advertised life. Sounds like some refunds are due!

    If you are so dissatisfied, why not just return yours and be done with it?

    Seems more logical than venting your spleen anonymously on an internet message board...

  • How do you return a six month old watch and get a refund? 

  • In most countries consumer laws allow return if the device can be shown to be not fit for the purpose for which it was intended.

  • So the solution is to return or sell the 1000$ watch, then sell the titanium bracelet and sell the smart index, the speed and cadence sensor and the power meters and running pod and the hr strap..... not fix quickly a bad sw restoring original battery performance. 

    Here we are speaking of people that are usually investing in the ecosystem some money.

    Garmin should pay attention to high level customer.
