I've had my Epix 2 now for almost a week and it seems like the auto-sync over wifi setting doesn't work. It either doesn't work or my understanding of how it works is incorrect.
My watch is paired to the Wi-Fi at home and I confirmed it's connected correctly. Yesterday I spent most of my day at home and didn't open the Garmin Connect App on my phone to test if the watch will sync automatically without me opening the app (I disconnected my watch from the phone). By the time I went to the data for the day didn't show up in Garmin Connect's web portal.
I then went to bed thinking maybe the watch will sync over night when it checks for updates, but this morning I still see something very similar. Only a few additional hours of data was sent to Garmin Connect but not all the data.

account

Does that mean that in order for the Epix to auto sync over Wi-Fi I have to record an activity?
Should the watch auto-sync over Wi-Fi or do I need to either trigger a manual sync or open the Garmin Connect app to have the watch sync through my phone?
