Sleep schedule setup

Is it only me or the actual setup of the sleep schedule is not really user-friendly?

It looks so slow when i need to change all the 5 weekdays in the same way.

I would prefer to be able to create up to 7 different schedules...being able to rename them could be an option too(like Weekdays schedule, Weekend schedule, etc) and then within the selected schedule we select the time and the days on which the schedule should be active.

It's not a big deal as the majority of people(myself included) don't change the schedule, frequently, but when you need to do it, it's really not user-friendly...can't imagine the people who need to change it frequently.

Something similar to the below screenshot or, without searching outside of Garmin, something similar to creating alarms and then selecting in which days they are going to be used.

Already sent the suggestion through Garmin but wanted to see others' opinions too.

  • i am sure that shift users would appreciate this, but I think for most of us we really don't need that level of functionality, plus there is always the sleep toggle in the control menu.

  • I, usually, prefer to play with settings on the phone, whenever it's allowed and i didn't notice that on the watch it's already possible to select multiple days.

Not sure if it was like this since the beginning or not.

Anyway, something similar on the phone would be definitely nice.

  • Not sure if it was like this since the beginning or not.

It has been there as long as I've had mine. I used to have different times for weekdays and weekends but not anymore. I have 2130 to 0610 set for every day despite my sleep times changing between weekday and weekend. I find the watch detects early/late sleep changes of an hour or so before/after without difficulty.

  • still keep week and weekend times different, as more than an hour difference between the two in terms of bed and wake up times.

  • As much as i was a strong believer in the sleep schedule, i must admit that setting the starting time doesn't really affect the sleep tracking.

During the last week i set a starting time of the sleep schedule at 3am and the watch, correctly, started the tracking around 10pm.

On the opposite side, i already tested that wakening up only for few minutes(5-10 let's say) near the end of the schedule, or outside of the schedule, stops easily the tracking. For this reason my sleep schedule ends at 10am also if i wake up a lot earlier.

Ending the sleep, manually, with the activity button works flawlessly and it's not a big deal.

  • Note though, that "ending sleep" by actually using a shortcut to turn off sleep mode, does *not* work.  It turns it off, and then a few seconds later, sleep mode goes back on per schedule.  Seems like a stupid bug (as of v17.23).  Really annoying and seems like Garmin is either clueless or careless with design/implementation details.  I submitted a request to fix that.

  • It works for me but i turn it off with "start/stop" button.

I remember another person in a similar situation and he/she was able to turn it off with "my" method.

  • Yes, it has been noticed that the "start activity" button has a side-effect that allows sleep mode to be really turned off.  Using the actual feature of "turn off sleep mode" remains broken as of v17.23 and Garmin seems aware of this now...a number of users have reported the issue.  So, it's good that there's a workaround but a side-effect fix isn't a proper final solution.  I don't want to start an activity.  I want to turn off sleep mode, and the action made for this is simply broken.
