How to disable auto Sleep Mode (including its schedule) and only use manual Sleep Mode?

Hello,

I have just replaced Fenix 7S with Epix 2 and would like not to have automatic Sleep Mode, but to enter Sleep Mode manually only.

I have irregular work shifts with no pattern, so no "automatic" here is suitable for me.

How can this be done?

A great thing would probably be if Garmin could add option to enable/disable sleep windows and if disabled you have to manually enter sleep mode. And when sleep window disabled then watch only detects sleep…

My shifts never can't be covered with any type of schedule, please introduce ability to track a sleep manually!

Shouldn’t have to do any task to exit sleep mode except for pressing the button to exit sleep mode. I just “breathed” all flamin’ night. I don’t need to do some nonsensical “breathing” task in order to satisfy the watch that I REALLY WANT TO EXIT SLEEP MODE.

Actually, for me would be great to have working option to disable sleep mode despite schedule.

Sometimes, I have work at night. Then I'd like to permanently disable sleep mode to have watch fully operational. Unfortunately, after couple of minutes it automatically return to sleep mode.

Then don't? Looks like it might benefit you though. :) You could also just add the sleep mode in controls and turn it on and off from there so you don't even have to breath. Press above button, then press and hold middle button, add controls. Using the Forerunner 255.

So you recommend me to add controls and everytime I want to use my watch I need to disable sleep as it turns on after a few minutes?

Btw., the same is with ABC, it turns off after a minute or so. Come on.... Garmin!

Hi Pawel, i was replying to 7067478. When I disable it it stays disabled until I turn it on again. Just found it today: press and hold the upper left button to enter control wheel, then press and hold middle button, then add controls, sleep mode. You can just turn it on and off any time. Hope that helps.

This is exactly how I have it configured.

In my case sleep mode turns on automatically at noon. When I open the control wheel and turn sleep off it anyway turns on after a while.

Out of schedule it works as expected.

Nope — doesn’t work that way on the D2 Mach 1 Pro. If you disable it while it’s still inside the scheduled “sleep time”, it will immediately reenable it. So if you wake up earlier than the time you scheduled sleep mode to end and try to disable it manually, it reenables it again immediately. Like a few seconds…certainly less than a minute.

Would you agree that's not very convenient?

If I switch it off in my opinion it should stay in that state to the next schedule.

If I re-enable should be off at end of the schedule.

Would be much more intuitive and useful. Tbh I don't see any value from the current approach, looks like a bug for me.

I absolutely agree with you that this is how it should work. 100%. No idea why they made it act like this intentionally.
