Buttons

Changed mine 2 times because of faulty/stuck buttons.

The most used are improving over time but sometimes they feel a little mushy. 

Had a start/stop button issue myself. No click at all - and stuck sometimes stuck. Had to do a replacement with Garmin. Got the new one two days later - and I’m happy to report, all buttons are perfect and consistent so far. 

Thanks all. All but my start/stop button seem to have settled in nicely, with just the start/stop not pressing in / releasing properly. The button “vibe” suggestion helped achieve the sensation of a properly functioning button, allowing me to know if the button actually engaged. Still having issues with an earlier trouble where the watch would “save” instead of “resume” during a run. Besides these two troubles, the watch has been fabulous. 

My middle-left button started sticking this morning.  When I short-press it, I get a long press, and sometimes a double press.  I tried cleaning around the area, and haven't noticed any improvement.  It honestly feels like something inside the button has snapped or stuck.  It lacks the tactile feeling that the other buttons have.

Mine are still all different and bad. I've tried to get it replaced a few times with garmin but they tell me it's as designed but I ask them as a test: Which buttons should be mushy and which should be clicky? They never answer which tells me they're just fobbing me off.

It's interesting some of you were able to get a replacement, it's the worst thing about this watch - everything else is excellent. My Previous Fenix watch buttons were fine, and my wife's 7s is good too. Not sure why this Epix 2 is so bad. At least they work (for the time being anyway).

Ugh.. that's unfortunate to hear.  My Fenix 2 was great, and my other previous Garmins were always great.  I've been in contact with Garmin support, and they offered some troubleshooting so far, but I'm early in the process.  It only started acting up this morning.  

Update: The middle button issue got worse for me throughout the day to the point that it became unusable..  And after a little Garmin support troubleshooting, they started the RMA process.  That process is so far going smoothly..

after of 1 month of usage buttons on mine are still working fine.

i recently started noticing differencies in how they feel (DOWN and START buttons are soft for a few millimeters before doing the "click") but so far they are working fine.

always had the feedback vibration enabled so i don't rely on the physical click.
