Garmin Pay & Wrist Detection

Hi all,

Epix 2 & Garmin newbie here. I have a minor issue with Garmin Pay and wrist detection. Epix documentation states:

"TIP: After you successfully enter your passcode, you can make payments without a passcode for 24 hours while you continue to wear your watch. If you remove the watch from your wrist or disable heart rate monitoring, you must enter the passcode again before making a payment."

but my Epix requires the passcode everytime and in my daily commute it's a pain. It seems I'm not alone https://forums.garmin.com/outdoor-recreation/outdoor-recreation/f/fenix-7-series/291979/garmin-pay-does-not-stay-activated-while-watch-on-wrist. AFAIK I have no gaps in heart rate monitoring and my wrist strap is already well tight.

Have you experienced this issue? How can I fix this?

The issue has been resolved with the v11.28 software update.

Unfortunately, 9.33 doesn't fix the problem

Tested with 9.36: the issue is still here.

Have you tried rebooting the watch? When I had 6X Sap experienced the same problem. A reboot solved the issue for me.

I have the same problem. I already have a second Epix watch and I always have to enter a PIN when I want to pay.

Do you currently have 2 EPIX watches with the same problem? Or is the second one a replacement used to fix this problem (and it didn't work)?

I tried several times. No luck. Today I was in a queue: I unlocked the watch but queue was a bit slow. My turn arrived after a couple of minutes. I had to re-enter the pin

the second Epix watches are a replacement for the first one which had the wrong buttons and both problem that I had to enter the code every time. I didn't find any settings for entering pins anywhere

Have the same issue, hopefully it will be fixed in the next update.

Yep. It happen also to me. I need to enter the security code more often than on my Fenix 6.
It will be managed in a next upgrade. ;-)

Thanks for posting this. It happens to me too. I thought it was just a new behavior when I upgraded to the Epix 2. It never happened on my Fenix 6 or Venu 1. Definitely a pain in the ....
