Marine map - no details on Epix 2

I won't be back near the coast until Sunday to try it, but I am fairly certain that you have to buy the marine maps for this to work.  They are not included with the watch (not even with the Quatix which is the marine version of the watch).

As noted, you need to have a Marine specific map installed. These are different to the Topo Active maps that do not have marine information. The settings are there specifically for Marine Maps. 

I contacted Garmin support for this exact issue.  I followed all steps, disabling all other maps installed, enabled Marine theme...no depth readings at any zoom level.  The marketing for this feature is HIGHLY misleading...they say:

Spot Soundings

Enables depth measurements on the chart.

You must have a marine chart installed.  Which according to Garmin Support is not possible spacewise unless you delete every other map installed on the watch (like the primary map for me, Topo North America).  Garmin Support said the ONLY thing Marine theme does is change the color of the map.

What marine maps do you mean, something to buy? Garmin Express doesnt show me marine maps. And one thing i have learned: never buy maps from garmin, you will get nothing but crap.

Of course, you have to buy them. 

They thought the "marine theme" of the TopoAcitve maps is an inclusion of marine maps, which is not. Its only a theme.
