For a watch that costs $1000 the haptics are an embarrassment for this watch. It’s so loud and distracting but I need to leave it on or risk missing important notifications. For Gen 3, please gramin, upgrade this haptic motor!

Well... haptic feedback and vibration are two different settings. 
You can deactivate haptic feedback and still have vibration on for notifications.

haptic (feedback) is a feedback for an input, most commonly used on touch inputs, you are actively interacting with the watch

I think that the whole point is that it is supposed to be distracting to get your attention. I don’t have a problem with the Epix vibration. It is less annoying than my iPhone
