Yea.. interesting. Though looking at the battery consumption, this is a feature that significantly reduces GPS battery life.

Hmmm. With the Epix you get a realy realy good display. I dont wont go back to MIPS.
In which situation ist Multiband so much better?

I don't really care about multiband gps, but given the price difference between a FR255 and the base Epix 2, I can understand the frustration.

Except some specific use cases (aka DC rainmaker running in a dense city center).. not sure if this is worth it for normal use.
What I'd like to know, if this could be enabled on regular Epix 2 as I doubt the chipset is different (i.e. it's likely sw/fw disabled).
And agree, if FR255 gets it.. why not the "base" Epix 2, Garmin?
You have it on Epix but only in the Titan version which I recommand anyway given the extended memory for maps.
I think you are not getting the point here

I have the latest beta with All+Multi-Band selected in settings?
But you don't have the non-sapphire edition.
The least they can do is unlock the multi band feature on all capable watches ASAP. I guess they all use the same chip and only need software update.
Also they put 32gb on the 955, which is a good thing. The bad and ugly thing was to put only 16gb on the Epix and Fenix7 standard models, which are still much more expensive than the $500 FR955 (which is a fair price btw, no complaints here).
I can live with 16gb (although the fact that 955 has 32 is a joke...), but I cannot understand 255 getting the multi band here when the watches more than 2x the price do not have this functionality...
take a look here, looks like f7 crowd got more invested in the topic than epix’s

"Of course, there is a trade-off on battery there. It basically halves your battery life. However, in my testing of other units on the ‘All Systems’ GPS option, the accuracy was nearly identical, even in the buildings of Manhattan. Once I get a breather, I’ll try doing some more building tests on the lower-battery burning options and add them in."
Half battery life, half price....no OLED. But, this is a realy good system but...with MIPs. The number one showstopper for that. Just sell you Epix (you get a good price) and buy FR. Where is the problem?
