V8.21 Epix 2 Bug Unable to exit connect to headphone if I want to just exit

There is a bug in the software, unable to exit (X) Connect Headphones menu

Does anyone else have this problem?

Select Music controls (press Start/stop)
Select Play (press start/stop)
Connect Headphones? is displayed
Now the "x" cancel function cannot be selected. "Back" nor any other button or touch screen work
Unable to exit from this screen unless I hold the Light button for >10 seconds to power the device down.

I have 2 pairs of headphones ready for connection to the Epix 2.

In step 3, the watch displays "Connect Headphones?" and I see my 2 pairs. When I select one, the watch attempts to pair. If I select add new, it starts looking for a new pair. In any case, I can press the back button to stop the attempt.

However, I don't see the x "cancel" function.

Maybe you don't have any headphones already set up? I am not sure.

Correct, I don't have any headphones set up. However, I should be able to exit that screen by selecting "x". Neither any of the buttons or touch screen allow me to exit.

Perhaps try a hard reset - press and hold top left until shutdown then restart. It looks fine on mine and I have no headphones connected.

Hmm. From the music controls I can select Now Playing and see what would be playing. If I them press top right I get the screen to Connect headphone. Top right is a green check, bottom left a red cross. I can select the red cross to exit. Do you have anything added from the CIQ store? If you have perhaps remove it and see if it makes a difference.
Maybe have a chat with Garmin Support.

Correct, bottom left x unable to select. 100 % stock standard.

I have now paired a headset and now can't even enter the control menu.

Ok problem solved by doing a reset and also reset to factory.

There seems to be a problem with the firmware upgrade process which is causing mixed results in the new firmware.
