Golf activity not uploading to Strava

Hi,

Before the Epix 2, I used to have a Fenix 5 plus and golf activities would upload to Strava showing a track, but there is no Strava golf activity type, so it was recorded as a walk (though not 100% sure of the activity type in Strava as it was a while ago). Now with the Epix 2, my runs and cycle rides sync fine to Strava but the golf activity recorded on the Epix 2 never shows up. As far as I can tell, the Garmin->Strava (for activities) and Strava->Garmin (for courses) links are intact and working fine for non-golf activities. I record the whole round on my watch, which gets saved with hole by hole score to Garmin Connect on my iPhone, and even shows up in the list of round in Garmin Golf, which is a separate app on my iPhone.

Anyone have any insight into what could be wrong to prevent these activities from syncing to Strava?

    If other activities are syncing from Garmin Connect to Strava then you should contact Strava.

    Digging a bit more, one clue I found was that my last golf round on the Fenix 5 Plus from Nov 21 shows up in two places in Garmin Connect, one in the list of all activities labeled just "XXXX County Golf" and also as a scorecard in the separate Golf section. Now with rounds recorded using the Spix 2 there is no activity listed in the Activities section, only a scorecard with other analysis in the Golf section. Sure seems like something is different about how the watch is recording this activity from the built in Golf activity type. It was recorded after getting a GPS signal lock so should have the full track, but can't see that anywhere in Garmin Connect. Like I said it missing from the list of activities,. only the scorecard and other analysis appears in the Golf section. The analysis there has various breakdowns like greens in regulation etc that I believe are possible due to having GPS, though the accuracy is questionable.

    Anyone else recording their golf round on their Epix 2 and having the GPS track for the activity sync over to Strava successfully?

    Never mind I found it. There is a setting in the Golf settings to "Record Activity". Not sure why it is off by default. I'll have to test it the next round but sure sounds like with that set to on, it will also record an activity for the round.

    That would make sense. Garmin sees it as a round of golf but without the activity being generated there's likely nothing to send to Strava.

    On the watch itself, in the main menu go to Activities & Apps -> Golf -> Golf Settings -> Record Activity and toggle it to On, the factory default is Off at least when I had this problem.
