Sleep Mode Bug

So, last night I noticed that my Epix 2 had randomly exited sleep mode, so I turned it on manually and everything was fine -- or so I thought.

But today I noticed that it hadn't left sleep mode one hour after my set wake up time. I ended sleep mode, fiddled around in the glances, went back to the watchface and boom, it was back in sleep mode. I restarted, did a hard reset and after each restart it's right back in sleep mode. If I go into any activity and leave, sleep mode is back on. My Fenix 6 had a similar bug, but it wasn't that bad and it rarely happened.

Any thoughts?

Update: Apparently, my watch thinks it's Saturday already, because sleep mode turned itself off after 09:00 (which is my weekend wake up time). What the hell.

It affects the sleep recording too if you wake up a lot.

Normally, i wake up early also on weekends but the "sleep schedule" is set until 7:30am and also if i deactivate the "sleep mode" the widget on…

what software version and have you tired rebooting the watch and if that fails have you tried a factory reset.

I have tried everything but a factory reset
If it happens again tomorrow, I'll have to reset my watch

I have the same problem. I have set the sleep mode from 11pm to 6am and if I turn it on manually outside this time, every time I open a hydration widget and I go back so the sleep mode turns off. Conversely, if between 11pm and 6am, when sleep mode is active, if I turn it off manually because I don't want to sleep yet ... then at this time, after opening the widget, it will turn itself back on. It does the exact same DND mode ... it did on all FW and even on this last 8.18 .... it would be good to solve it.

This is why I've been saying for months that this is a HORRIBLE UX. They should give us the option of turning off the schedule altogether. So we just manually toggle it on and off when we want.

Set your schedule late in the night and late in the morning and set a shortcut for activating/deactivating the sleep mode manually and you should be fine.

As far as i know, the sleep recording can start few hours before the schedule but not sure if there is a limit or not...for example, if you set the schedule at 3am but you activate the sleep mode, manually, at 9pm, i'm not sure if the sleep recording will start or not. Same for the awake moments outside of the "sleep schedule"...they can easily interrupt the recording from what i know.

Worth some tries if you find the actual system not enough for yourself.

This whole having to set a sleep schedule is a convoluted mess. It doesn't affect anything but the display and notifications. It doesn't say to start recording sleep. The watch SHOULD do that on it's own.

I just set mine for 1 minute and done with it. I don't use the AOD, so it's fine how it is. Records sleep ok, but sleep accuracy is crap.

If i wake up near the sleep schedule end or outside of it...the sleep recording will stop quickly from what i/ve noticed.
