After update to 8.18 the back/lap button does NOT work anymore.

I updated 1 hour ago from 7.35 to 8.18 , restarted the watch also, BUT: when i go to glances or use the START button i can not go back again to the normal watch face with the BACK button, to get back to the watch face i have to wait till the screen turns off and then reactivates with wristmovement.

For a $1000 watch one could expect at least basic functions , even after a big update.

Anyone else have this isue ? or is it already known ?

I just updated today (also restarted the watch after).

I haven't used glances, but if I press the "START" button (and it takes me to the activity list), when I hit the "BACK" button it goes back.

So that's specifically what you're doing? Hitting "START", seeing the activity list, hitting "BACK" and it does nothing?

Yes, nothing happens then and also when i am looking to glances overview hitting the back button does nothing then. The watch is pretty useless now, is there a way to go back to the old software 7.35 ? As 8.18 “broke” my watch

If i go to glances and press the start button when on one of the glances (say steps) it takes me into more detail on steps and to get back to the clock face I hit 'back' twice. or you can put your hand on the watch face for a few seconds and it goes back to the clock face.

I don't have this problem. You should contact Garmin support, most likely.

For the watch-face trick, you'd have to have touch enabled, right? I have it turned off.

That’s also not working, if i slide from left to right the screen freezes, back button works only to the point to get back to glance overview and then nothing anymore,

Well it worked all fine untill the update just now, so thats the only thing that changed, also a few glances look empty untill you tap on them, again anyway to go back to 7.35 ???

Ok , when i swap to an original stock face then it works, but on a face downloaded. From iq store not, maybe dev from some watch faces need to update their watch faces ?

I was thinking your problem could be coming from a custom watch face. Then the patch is to contact the developer of that face.

That's often the case. Garmin make changes that affect 3rd party watch faces etc, often all of them. The first port of call is first to check if the issue affects Garmin watch faces etc. if it doesn't, then the developer needs to be contacted.
