climbpro graph color

Hi there,

I am bit confused about the climbpro feature. According with Garmin during an active climb for a cycling activity, the graph color represents the grade severity of the climb. I've been using the Epix2 for a lot of cycling activities lately and never seen that, just the blue elevation chart. The watch is detecting different types of climbs with significant changes in gradient but not the colored graph. Am I missing something???

I wish Garmin allowed the gradient colors for ClimbPro when hiking. It would really help to see when a steep incline is approaching.

Do you look at the normal elevation chart or do you look at the special ClimbPro chart wich needs to be enabled and only appears when climbpro is triggered?

The second one, the one that appears while climbing. It is suppose to be just blue for running and colored for cycling if I got it right. Any ideas?

Are you following a course ? if not, no climbpro feature

Climbpro has to have a course - whether you have loaded one or are using the TBT directions. Only works when using navigation.

Climb screen is slightly different - you should be able to assign one of your data screens as a climb screen and then if you set it to auto change once it meets your criteria is will auto change to that screen. Then back to your normal tracking screen (if selected and you use that option). However on 7.35 I can't get that selection to work at the moment. But not a biggie for me so haven't really worried about it.

Yes, I'm following a course and using navigation during cycling activities. Climbpro correctly detects climbs and showing the climb screen (I'm getting the alert for upcoming climb). Everything works as expected but the graph color for gradient. I thought that that feature was only for Edge devices but it seems it should also work for other devices. So it is working fine for you guys?

When loading the course, do you ever check the climbs - do you see the correct colour grading then? select activity, up, courses - select course & then prior to pressing do course, scroll to climbs - is it showing the grading correctly? Mine are just showing green, despite a 7%avg on one am still seeing a green chart.

Yes, after loading the course I always check the climbs. They are always just green despite evident differences in gradient. During the climb the graph is all blue turning to green the section I already climbed. Never saw the colored gradients.

Are you really sure, that you are using a bike app with a bike routing setting? Sounds somehow, if there could be a mistake…And you are sure, that ClimbPro is enabled in the used app settings and you are not talking about the elevation plot?

Oh, you just gave me the answer. Just figured out that this color thing only works with THE BIKE APP. I was using the ROAD BIKE APP and for whatever reason Garmin does not allow the colored graph for this app. So mystery solved.

I am not sure. I really assume this is a bug. The colored ClimbPro graph should be available for all bike apps.
