Epix 2 Problems

Hello there,

i have some problems with my epix.

fitst one: when i am at an activity it sometimes randomly out of no movement the „lap“ feature starts. So on a walk today of 4 h the lap feature activated 9 times. But i didn*t press the button! My hand / wrist didin*t press the „lap“ button. 

the second one:

the watch sometimes crashes out of nowhere. I mean it costs 1000€ and the watch crashes when pressing a button. Thats not ok!i can not reproduce that it crashes but it is really annoying!

so is there a fix to These problems?

    Try the beta, not had a crash personally since I left 7.35.

    Lap - how many km did you do in the 4hrs - was it perhaps +9km < 10km? If so I suspect your auto-lap function is on and set to 1km. Check your settings for auto-lap and if you don't want it, turn it off. I keep mine on for SUP, runs, walks at 1km, Cycling at 5km but have it off for hikes.

    Crashes - what software version are you on? Official current version is 7.35 - if you aren't I would suggest updating ASAP as it fixes quite a few bugs. Alternatively there is the beta version of 8.18 which fixes even more bugs.

    Alternatively have you tried a reboot, and failing that a factory reset? If still having issues and on latest firmware then raise a support ticket with garmin/ if on beta software respond via the Beta feedback process.

    While we always hope that new tech never has bugs, you should be used to it now - think of how regularly phones, tablets, PC's etc are updated. There are millions of lines of code and virtually all tech suffers from these issues (yes even Apple and Google). The price of an item doesn't guarantee a lack of bugs, but it does sort of guarantee that those bugs will likely be fixed reasonably quickly if possible (unlike cheaper models where the aim is to get your money and run - Garmin really does generally care about retaining your custom and their support desk is very helpful in most countries).

    So i already installed the 8.13 version.

    the problems i wrote above were with the 8.13 update.

    today the watch out of nowhere startet to vibrate and restarted.

    i will install the new beta maybe it will help.
