Wahoo Kickr Bike paired as ANT+ smart trainer intermittently not recognized by epix 2

FW 7.35

Wahoo Kickr Bike

FW is up to date (I think that it is FW 1.25)

I record Zwift rides on both Zwift and the epix 2 to get Firstbeat analytics.

Zwift is run on an Alienware X17 R1 running Windows 11, connecting to the bike via BT rather than ANT+ absent problems.

The Kickr Bike is paired to the watch as an ANT+ smart trainer, and the Zwift rides are recorded on the watch as free rides using the Indoor Bike App.

Zwift is paired with the Kickr Bike via BT using the Windows 11 BT stack. I have a Zwift ANT+ dongle to connect it when BT is not reliable, but haven't had to use ANT+ for Zwift since BT reliability has improved with recent Zwift updates. The ANT+ dongle is disconnected from the laptop except when BT is nonfunctional.

However, to get both connections to function well, the following sequence works for me:

1) Power up the Kickr Bike and change to controllable on the front right switch.

2) Open the Indoor Bike app on the watch, selecting free ride.

3) Open Zwift on the laptop only after successful ANT+ connection to the watch has been established.

The watch intermittently fails to find the Kickr Bike, with options to try again or cancel. Retrials are unsuccessful. I think that I rebooted the watch the first time and was able to connect, but have found that closing the Indoor Bike app and then reopening it restores the ability to connect. This problem never occurred with my prior fenix 6x Sapphire, and doesn't occur with my Edge 830 when connected via ANT+.

I never had problems in the past when Zwift had frequent BT issues with simultaneous ANT+ connections to the laptop and either the Edge 830 or my prior fenix 6x Sapphire.
