Question about storage and watch performance

Is it possible that watch performance will suffer/slow as more storage is used (by loading more maps, for example)?

I'm thinking of how my old Mac got a lot slower when my hard drive was almost full and wondering whether the same kind of thing would happen with the epix.

And practically speaking, I'm trying to decide whether to load additional regions which I often travel to on the watch (would get me close to full) or just do that each time I travel (which is fine, but does take time)

  • no I don't think so as Garmin partitions its storage. if you fill all the watch face/data fields/apps storage slots it can prevent the watch from auto-updating these - so I always tend to leave two slots free - seems to then never cause an issue.

Only thing that does seem to sometimes slow it down is a 3rd party watch face.
