[BUG] I cannot set up DISPLAY ALWAYS ON at ENABLE or DISABLE per activity

Hello.

EPIX 2 SW 7.24.

I cannot set up DISPLAY ALWAYS ON per activity through the power management feature. Please follow the below scenario :

1)From SYSTEM / DISPLAY / PER ACTIVITY : choose DISPLAY ALWAYS ON at enable

2)From power management profile : create a profile with DISPLAY ALWAYS ON at disable (ie to get the display always off, unless you turn the wrist)

3)From your activity, select the power profile created at 2)

In my case, the epix 2 keeps the display always at ON whereas I want if off.

The only way to get it off is to do as follows :

1)From SYSTEM / DISPLAY / PER ACTIVITY : choose DISPLAY ALWAYS ON at disable

2)From power management profile : create a profile with DISPLAY ALWAYS ON at disable (ie to get the display off)

3)From your activity, select the profile created at 2)

I agree, it's missing for me as well.
Would like to have it enabled during running (to see data without any delays). On the other hand pointless to have it enabled during walking/hiking. Should be possible to override on actity settings.

Hello.

Actually it is how the EPIX works by design => with the power management feature you can set up the display behavior of any activity according to your need but with SW 7.24 there is bug, at least I suspect there is one.

You can configure an easy access to switch on/off AOD via shortcuts (see System menu). But gesture seems to be connected to this shortcut : AOD off => gesture off, AOD on => gesture on :-(

But I agree, could be a great feature to be able to configure AOD+gesture per activity !!!

NB : same thing for touchscreen : can be able/disabled via shortcut (Down+Start by default)

I cannot believe Garmin will keep considering this bug as minor because it is a major issue. Power management profile feature is a key in the Epix design. By the way, the equivalent feature works perfectly on my Sunnto S9B.

It seems to be solved with firmware 8.21. I need more days to be sure at 100%.
