Absolutely stunning GPS+ Accuracy

Dear all,

The Garmin Forums have always been a place for complaints (many of them have been reasonable and justified) BUT today I want to emphasize that the Tracking Capabilities of the Epix 2 (with multiband technology) are absolutely stunning. I have been using the watch for 3 weeks now and each and every track has been incredibly accurate - even in dense areas. I can see exactly see where I crossed the road and it absolutely has had no issues in demanding areas (big buildings, dense wood) but always showed an absolutely accurate track.

I have been using Garmin wrist devices since the early FR101 and this level of accuracy was never achieved.

REALLY good work, Garmin!

So far, I didn't have any problems as described in another thread - it was just my personal impression and after a long hike today I am still very much impressed :-)

The interessting thing. With the Fenix 6.....as a comperable device.

4 round around Airport Frankfurt. (not exactly the same as with the epix2) i got a drift of 10m

FR201 here, still have it !

So yes it's stunning except when it's not : forums.garmin.com/.../multi-band-bugs-on-epix-after-losing-the-fix

Still, overall GPS accuracy is good on the F7/Epix, first time a Fenix is as good as a Forerunner after years of pretty poor accuracy, especially the F6.

Unfortunately, the Epix sometimes has bad days.

And yesterday, a Garmin Descent measured this nonsense

Does anyone remember the Garmin outage where the watches stopped running after a few days in the GPS area?

Maybe some problems have something to do with Garmin and not directly with the hardware.

More multiband problems with the Epix ? Have you ever had that without multiband ?

I only did 2 non-multiband GPS tests and they were ok.

The main reason for buying the Epix was the higher GPS accuracy, which is why I run the watch in the most accurate mode, exactly in Garmin's specification, so to speak.

I would rather Garmin fix the problems instead of me playing test cow here.If I would go now without multiband, I would not notice the problems and could not report them, because I only have a Fenix 6X as 2t watch.

It has to be said: Most of the time, the accuracy is very very good, if it weren't for these flip-flops.

Have you tried using Every Second Data Recording instead of the Smart Data Recording shown in your first example?

These settings are default, i didnt change them, so it should be set to "Smart". I changed it now, but it doesnt explain the problem with the map shifted by several hundred meters.

Unfortunately I can only test again in 10 days
