Epix 2 Sapphire - Black Titanium vs. Leather band version

Am I right, that there are two different versions of the Sapphire black edition?

As far as I can see, there is the basic version with one silicone band and a red button:

The exact same version with the leather and silicon strap does have the button in the same color as the watch itself.

Which looks way better and plain, in my opinion:

(German Link, only)

But the brown leather does not match to the watch and costs 100 unnecessary bucks more Scream

Can someone dissolve how the watches really differ or if this black button is an issue in the german shop? Both stated as "Sapphire black Titan".

I´d go for the cleaner look and attach a black metal strap for work and use the silicone for sports...

  • The only difference between the watches themselves is the color of that button. That’s all. I bought that one with the red button and it looks great with the leather band too in my opinion. Ofc both of them have the same color (Sapphire - Black Titanium) and they are DLC coated as well.

  • Not only the button itself is red, but just inside the bezel near start/stop markings are 3 tiny stripes: these too are red. Versus on the "other" watch, those are white.

Garmin is completely insane with these absurd SKU and manufacturing and part variations !

  • Thanks for all your replies, so far!

Your are right , the stripes above 2 o´clock are also red. But on ´s picture it seems way less visible, then I expected. Or as the product images stated.

As I wrote, I don´t want to have the leather strap. But amazing, that a 100$ strap won´t last a month for Former Member.

I think I´ll go for the "red" one and spend the difference on a metal band for work. Maybe I can see it in real, before ordering it.
Spending 1000€ must pleasure my eyes as good as it can Laughing

  • Having the black sapphire version with the red button I admit that in daily use it isn't really remarkable. I don't know why Garmin made this difference. Don't bother to buy the red button version. No regret.

  • I expect a revised release later this year with yet more colours, maybe adding LTE and who knows venu like voice capabilities but that may mean less water proofing

  • Agree on that. You barely notice the red touch and I actually find it giving it a sporty touch.

  • As regular black titanium is very hard to find in stock I managed to find this leather band vesion in stock (lady said the received 3 units only), you get 2 straps, leather and black silicone (both with matching dark gray clasp) and a much nicer watch box. With 10% cash discount it was the same price as regular black.

  • tend to find that the red marking on the watch face is probably more visible than the button itself, but that may be because I am using the same screen and yellow marking too (just love a black face and yellow hands - have the same combo on my mechanical seiko). But saying that never really noticed it, and no one in my family has noticed the switch from F6x (which has the same red stripes, and also has a black and red button but far less visible. So as others have pointed out, it really isn't that visible.
