How much storage space do I need?

I'll be using North American maps, and some playlists and podcasts from Spotify. Storage space is the only thing that would have me buy the sapphire. Can I get away with the smaller storage?

I have the base Epix. I loaded the SE Asia topo map (Vietnam,PI and others) and according to the latest version of Express I have just a bit of room left if I install North America topo. I can't tell how much room as they removed the map sizes, and just show you visually. I might have 20% space left after install. The watch came with a large base map preinstalled. So the space vanishes pretty quick. I don't even use music and would like more room. Good luck

I have the standard version and the Europe maps installed. I am not sure how much space I have left however... I had all the previous version Fenix watches and was struck when I connected it to a computer that there were over two years of activities still on there. I don't store music on my watch as I generally always have my phone with me.

It would be great to be able to get storage space data on the watch though.

I just read an old (recent) post of mine. Base US Epix came with 12.2 gig free.

Great info, thanks! Any idea how much space a song or an hour long podcasts will use? I won't need my whole spotify account synced, just enough to get me thru a long workout.

If you are only loading the US topo I'd guess you will have a ton of room for music. From my search 1 gig holds between 8 and 16 hours of music depending on the quality rate chosen (128kbs, or 256).

Go into Map Manager (long press Up button, scroll to Map and enter. Your free space should be indicated at the top of the watch face.

For those of us without an Epix how much storage is left on a US 16GB Epix? I think it's around 4GB but I'm curious.
