Weather / temperature on watch face not updating

Hi - my wife and I both have the Epix 2 syncing to Garmin Connect on an iPhone 13. Obviously we live at the same location.  
My wife gets the right current temperature pushed to the watch face, I get some random temperature.  No idea why. As she gets right data, it’s not weather station inaccuracy. 
Tried everything:

- All permissions are on

- Location set to Always 

- Latest software updated

- Garmin Connect always open and syncing other data correctly 

- Have reset both iPhone and Watch

- GPS is on.
- Weather set to current location, not a fixed location (but even when I switch to fixed location, it still doesn’t work)

why am I not getting correct weather? Interestingly, it gives me the right forecast data on the watch, for example today it accurately shows min is 70 and max is 85 (Fahrenheit) but on the watch face, it says current temperature is 54 (obviously not possible). 

any suggestions? Any other setting on phone that may cause this? We have identical watches and phones.

  • Widget and watch face have same incorrect current temp information. It’s crazy. Sitting next to my wife. Her Epix says current temp is 64 degrees, mine says 72 degrees. Both widgets updated at 6:22AM. Mind blowing 

  • Mine is similar.  I get the high/low displayed, but just dashes for temp.  Says it is waiting for data from Garmin...

    If that's the case then you need to ensure GC on your smartphone is still running in the background ie no phone settings have put the app to sleep, and that the phone is within range of your watch.

    If that still does not resolve the issue then perhaps you need to start a dialogue with Garmin Support.

  • I’ve just bought the Epix Gen 2 for my partner and have exactly the same issue. The temp is 11°C out. Tried all the same steps mentioned above. 

  • I’m having the same problem. My Epix2 is showing 72 degrees. When I click on it, the hourly forecast has the correct temperature of 81 degrees (and correct high/low forecast for the day). This is a persistent problem, like the temperature on the widget (current temperature) is pulling from a different location than the weather forecast.

  • I have it sometimes that the temperature is shown as --, it happens mostly mornings after the morning report. I have then to close GC on my iPhone and reopen it, after this the temperature is shown.

  • I was the same a few times. Watch reset and then sync is helping.

  • Same problen but started secently, developers are saying its Garmins issue. -using fenix 7x

  • I have a new Epix pro for two weeks now and I have the same problem!

    Funny that the problem exists and Garmin is doing NOTHING FOR TWO YEARS!!!

    What a bad customer service!

    The software seems buggy and in beta status everywhere ( actual version 15.77 ). I also had the following issues:

    - garmin pay did not work the first time i wanted to use it today, had to remove and reinstall the credit card, hope it works now!

    - the heart rate zone settings are way off in garmin connect and during the training on the watch; I have used the MAX HR settings with the percentages from garmin:

                 For a MAX HR of 185 the watch told me for a recovery run that a heart rate of 148 is perfect, great! That's totally *** and also way off               from the percentage values from garmin!

                 The same is displayed in garmin connect in the traing review.

                 I have found a workaround but in the forum it was said that it's not permanent for everywone!

                The customer service in germany was also really great. Fact is: no help at all!!!

                Those training advices are one of the main reasons for me to buy a watch for nearly 800 €. How can I ever trust them when such a simple

                 calculation is donw wrong by the software.

    Finally, after two weeks of using the watch, I feel betrayed and I am not sure if it was the right decision to the EPIX PRO (gen2)!

    I had to do the work to sent my screenshots to the technical service and they will ( whenever that is) have at look at this. It's like beeing in the beta program for a totally new product. But usually you don't have to pay the full price for such a ***! Garmin should pay it's users doing the work for them!

    If they don't solve those issues fast I could have used my old galaxy watch 4 or even 30 $ cheap china gadget watch and would be happier with the price/ delivery-ratio.

    Actually the watch is useless! It's like buying the Apple Iphone pro max and you can't use it to make a call and Apple customer service tells you that you need to send in all your data, do the work and then they tell you that they are working (possibly?) on that problem to solve it!

    Shame on you, Garmin! Really, shame on you!!!

    You should return your watch for a full refund - you and this watch are obviously not a good fit.
