Varia Vision

Hi there. I just added all my sensors and display (varia Vision v3.60) and... the display reboots just after its shows the confirmation that is connected. Any ideas? I restarted the Epix, restarted the display, removed extra data screens like the map, etc. Still the same, it reboots after the confirmation. It is working perfectly on my FR945. This is no good since I do not have a computer for my bicycle. Let me know if someone had the same issue or a solution. Thank you!

I tried a single data screen with only 1 data field. Same thing.

Yes, the newer devices seem so send something different, but that does not mean it is incorrect. The Varia does not ignore the [faulty?] transmission, but instead 'crashes' - this has a 'smell'. But sure - you could also fix that on the Fenix/EPIX side by doing what the older Fenixes were doing all along.

Just to clarify, my Varia Vision boot perfectly, it reboots upon connection to the Epix. All is good when connecting to the FR945. I also did a factory reset on the Varia Vision to make sure the FR945 data is deleted. Same results, reboots after the connection to the Epix.

All firmwares are on the ticket but, I just copied them here as a reference:

Updated December 1st, 2022:

Due to the Varia Vision being discontinued - our Varia Vision engineering team has decided it will not be updated to resolve the compatibility issues between the Fenix 7 series and the Varia Vision.

any of you fortunate enough having a Garmin Edge and verify the display capability ?

Actually very relevant. I tested it with extended display mode on my Edge 520+ and it crashed my Edge. Therefore, this is clearly an issue with the way that the Epix is sending the data.
