Calendars (e.g., Google Calendar) and Epix Gen 2

BACKGROUND: My question is one that I have never thought about before using with my Garmin watches. You see, in the past, I limited my Garmin wearing to the workouts. I put on my Samsung (or other Wear OS smartwatch) for the rest of the day, so calendar synching has never been an issue. Now, with my Epix Gen 2, I would like it to be my all day watch. I looked around the forum (and on several search engines), but have found no direct answer.

QUESTION: Is it even possible to synch Google Calendar events so that they appear in my Garmin Epix Gen 2 watch when I select and click on my Garmin Calendar widget (I don't mean the notifications; I do get those.)? If it is possible, how is it done?

What I know I can do for sure is see calendar push notifications show up on my Epix Gen 2 before an event same as I would see a new email notification show up from my Gmail account, or a text notification. What I cannot do is see an event (such as a work-related meeting) that is recorded in my Google Calendar also appear in my Garmin Calendar widget when I use it on my Epix Gen 2. All I see in my Garmin Calendar widget are my upcoming workouts (which is as expected) and national holidays, which I believe appear by default.

That is absolutely possible and should work by default. At least for me with and android phone it works.

Just make sure in the Google calendar app to activate the calendars that you want to see on the watch. So far I have not found another way to filter it.

What phone are you using?

The calendar widget only works with the native calendar on your phone. If you want to sync your Google calendar events you have to first go into the native calendar and link your Google calendar in there. You don't actually have to use that calendar, but it has to be linked. Then, when you add events to your Google calendar they will automatically populate in the native calendar and will show on your Garmin widget.

Also, make sure you have ALL permissions on in Garmin Connect.

Forgive my ignorance, but I don't follow. Not your fault; I am a knuckledragger when it comes to this specific functionality.

I think you are saying that if I want to synchronize what events I have in my Google Calendar with my Garmin Calendar, so that I can see my Google Calendar events IN my Garmin Calendar (in my Epix Gen 2), I have to first link my Google Calendar with my Garmin Calendar from within the settings of my Google Calendar app. Am I reading you correctly? If so, I am finding difficulty in actually seeing where - in my Google Calendar app - there is a place to link Garmin's Calendar.

If what you mean is that I have to link Google Calendar with Garmin Calendar from within the Garmin Calendar app, I am not sure where - in the Garmin Connect app - that is done.

No, this has nothing to do with your Garmin calendar at all, actually. I am talking about the native calendar on your Android phone. You have to go into your native PHONE calendar and add your Google calendar in there. The Garmin widget is looking for events on your native Android calendar. Go into the phone calendar and find "Manage Calendars" and you should see "Google" as one of your calendars available to add. Toggle that on.

Awesome!! Now one more thing that I do is to make sure notifications are turned off in that native calendar, assuming that you get calendar notifications from you Google calendar. You don't want two notifications for the same event.

What link. Where do I find link. The only reference to calendar link in garment connect app is office 365?

It's not in the Garmin Connect app. You have to go into the native calendar on your phone and set up your calendar in there. Whatever calendar you use has to be linked within the phone's native calendar.
