How come no Tides app? Does Garmin have to update its own apps for the new epix?

How exactly do you do this?  I'm on the new Beta, but it won't show Garmin Tides in ConnectIQ for me?  Do you sideload it somehow?

It's not necessary to use Connect IQ store. Just try to add a sport(the same way you add f.e. surf or any other) and it will appear on the list. 

It was the case for my fenix 6 and my marq, the tides was easily added,  but it doesn't appear in the list on my garmin EPIX Gen 2

Generally  i do not install beta version of firmware because it may cause stability problems. But in this case I need tides daily and can you tell me how to install beta 8.18 ( file to download and installation process ) ?. thanks

Meanwhile 8.18 is stable and no beta anymore.

Install it like any other update and be happy with tides.

The new tide app is OK but personally I prefer Surf Balls https://apps.garmin.com/en-US/apps/85c1e458-f8c0-4041-be71-f6694fa4cc39#0

Change the settings so you get details - and you get so much more including wave height etc, which is far more useful than just knowing when its high/low (which is also included).

With wind & waves app it happens to me too, server busy.. sometimes it works,but normally doesn't.
Tides data inaccurate in some places, really disappointed with garmin.
In Portugal, Lisbon, Lagos and Funchal the tide data is wrong, the tide time and the tide height
I think that we, garmin users/buyers should ask for a compensation.
This (tides and sea conditions) was the primary issue for me to buy a EPIX2.
