I am getting the 5-6 days as advertised but today I turned off the always on display and auto off from 8 seconds to 4. I had noticed that the always on option wasn't actually always on so thought it might be better to embrace gesture based screen use. 

The jump went from 6 to 9-10 days, are there any downsides? I assume the screen is always on during activities though.

    You really need to test each scenario to find what works for you.

    If driving or just checking the time, the dim screen of AOD allows me to see the second hands easily. If the screen is off, it would require a touch, if enabled, or a button push, so using two hands. In General use using gestures may not work so well. I move my arms doing lots of things. Just sitting turning the pages of a magazine may illuminate the face and at night if resting, it can be bright and annoying. I would either use AOD with gestures off or AOD off and gestures off, if I don't care about the time, or may be driving with another clock.

    During activities, having AOD off and using gestures works (I was testing this yesterday during a ride), but when I ride my bike, I don't always do a full 90-degree arm turn. I may keep my hands on the bar and roll my arm slightly while moving my head a little. The dim screen is still visible at times but as I am using Gestures during activities, I always get instant feedback/data. So really depends how quickly you need to see the data without taking your eyes off the road or a rocky trail. If hiking for example the speed the display comes up using AOD off and Gestures may work just fine.

    I am using AOD with gestures off for General stuff and AOD with Gestures during activities. There are two settings for AOD. For General use and During Activity. Menu/Settings/System/Display/During Activity or General Use.

    Definitely thinking the gesture mode is working best. 10 days and to be honest I haven't seen any missed movements. So far so good.

    Trying Gesture Mode today as I see it is giving 17 days of life. I expect the revised 7.24 with AOD being always on literally it may tax the battery more.

    I believe 17 days without any activity during that time?
