Active calories as a watch face data field

Before I purchased the Epix 2 last week, I was using a 945 LTE. The 945 LTE was the first Garmin watch I had seen where on built in watch faces, active calories was an option as a watch face data field. I was hopeful this would be a standard carried forward on other newer models.

To my disappointment, this is not an option on the Epix 2. This puzzles me because clearly it’s possible. Total calories is not useful to me because base calories doesn’t change much. I like to know how active I’ve been each day and strive to reach a goal (like red ring on Apple watches).

My watch is Fenix 6 pro.

I just ordered my Epix 2, hoping Garmin implemented the possibility to add active calories on watch faces.

I already sent this idea to Garmin a year ago, because I use active calories to reach weekly and monthly goals.

Same disappointment here...

same here...I don't use the steps and floor goals. I try to reach a 'active calories' goal every day. I know I can go to the calorie 'glance' but would rather see it on the watch face like the apple rings

I am looking for the same thing! I use active calories to figure out how much I can eat day to day to still be in a caloric deficit.

can confirm the standard epix offer the same option - so its possible but probably only on some watch faces and some data fields.

This is my Epix 2 using a standard Garmin watch face. You can see the Active Calories / Calories and the green bar displayed just under the time. A number of the inbuilt Epix 2 Garmin watch faces do support it, however only in a couple of specific fields, and as far as I can tell, only in conjunction with the normal Calories.

I would prefer Active Calories was its own standalone field that can be put in any data field position, but that doesn't seem to be possible with the inbuilt watch faces.

Agree with you. It's really lame that active calories is not a standard watch face data field. I moved to a CIQ custom face to be able to use active calories how I wanted.
