Epix on smaller wrist

Hey everyone - does anyone with an Epix Gen 2 have smaller wrists?

My wrists are 16.5cm and I was planning to get a 7S but am considering the Epix 2 instead as I don't really want solar but did want saphire glass.

Garmin 7 series aren't out in stores where I live yet so I was hoping anyone with a wrist around my size might be able to post a picture for reference.

Thanks in advance!

  • I have a 16 cm wrist.  Here are pictures of the F6XPro and Epix 2.  The Epix 2 is noticeably less bulky, but they look about the same.

  • I have almost the same wirst size (162 mm). I had the F7s, but returned it, since I found it too small and bulky. The height of the watch just gives it a bulky form factor with Ø42mm size.

I'm also turning back to Ø47mm with the Epix on order. BTW - I also had the F6 titanium which was slightly big, but still very great. Much better fit to my small wrists.

  • YES!  This.  For me, this is the biggest issue.  I have small-ish wrists.  So as it's winter here when I work out I have 3 or 4 layers on when working out. Or even when in the house I might have a jacket or other layers on.  At 47mm, it's too big on my wrist. It has caught on my clothing on my arm.  Almost to the point of being painful until I adjust. But I'll try and get used to it.  I really wish there was a Epix 2s model.

But the two biggest reasons I'll try to live with it is 1. The screen!  Once you see it, you'll never want a different watch.  2.  My company has a program that is reimbursing me the cost of the whole watch.  So how could I not give a $1000 watch a shot that has bright screen and sooo much better GPS (I've tested it vs my Forerunner 745 and it's a huge improvement).  I really like the size of my 745.  It's light and doesn't catch onto clothes like the Eprix does.  If it becomes an issue, I'll try the Fenix 7S.  Maybe I can accept/live with the lesser screen?  Hmm....  Also, I can still return the 745 back to Amazon and get my $400 back.  With that said, I'll try my best to 'get used to it' and accept it's biggest flaw for me.`

  • My wrist is about 14cm...ugh!  I am a little concerned about this size on me.  I am one to wear my Garmins 24/7.  We'll see when it gets here.  I currently wear a fenix 6S which is perfect.

I have the exact same size wrist, and this was also a concern for moving from my 6S Pro to the expix 2. Specifically, though, I'm concerned about HR accuracy with the larger size. Have you been able to check this, and how do you find wearing it overnight?

You may find your wrist is too small for the watch to accurately monitor HR. This is also my concern with my 16-cm wrist, going from a 6S Pro.

Edit to add: Garmin apparently says the Epix 2 will fit wrists from 125 mm. I forget the upper end but that's not what this page is about. Still, it may look rather large on a small wrist, but that's esthetics, not function.

  • I just posted this in my other post about the size so I thought I'd post it here too in case anyone else is concerned about the size, or the OHR not being effective because of a smaller wrist:

I just did a side by side comparison on the Garmin website.  The case size of the epix is exactly the same as the 945, which I have also used and actually just sold yesterday.  On the website, they state the epix fits a wrist size of 125-208mm with the silicone band, which is 12.5-20.8cm, and the 945 fits 130-220mm, so technically the epix is said to fit an even smaller wrist than the 945, so I am not worried about the OHR.  My 945 worked just fine.

  • It's doing fine with wrist HR, and much better on blood oxygen.  I would very much notice the F6xPro wearing it overnight, but don't notice the Epix 2.

  • Thanks for posting the photos - congratulations on getting the epix!

  • Thanks Teriemer for your post - would you mind posting a picture of your epix 2 on your wrist when it arrives?
