aweful squeel sound on audio prompts, please help

I use audio prompts for lap times, heart rate and pace. Right before I get told the information, the garmin lets out this weird squeel/beep. it's really annoying. Can it be turned off so that I just get the information spoken to me without that squeely noise?

This is what it sounds like, regardless of what brand earphones I use. from Apple Airpods to Microsoft surface Buds and so on.

Experiencing the same thing, never had it with previous models. Hopefully can be fixed with a firmware upgrade.

Totally agree, the countdown beep sound is really awful... it's really annoying, like high pitch noise... for the strength workouts or during navigation beep sound is ok...

FYI, i'm using AirPods, latest Gen. Music and audio prompt itself sounds great. But that noise Garmin makes before the audio is horrid.

I think I've heard it on my 6S at one point but I don't think I hear it anymore. Can't remember. I've been out injured since foot surgery in June.

I hope you get well soon. I know what it is like to HAVE to stop. it's a stir crazy feeling. Weather has been bad here. Past week only able to run once. So, I have to be happy swimming laps. It's nice, but not the same.

As noted this was an issue with some F6 users. If you haven't done so it'll be worth Contacting Garmin Support.

I will, because i noticed the audio prompts themself sound way too slow, like the alert beep/squeel and audio prompt are playing in slow motion.

I did hear exactly this on the autolap alerts. I assumed it was intentional, if a little strange. I'd be interested to know if Garmin believes it is a fault.

Here is Garmin's answer. Listen to that audio and tell me if that's what you hear? Here we go again with the Garmin crap support. I turned off the alerts and just kept the prompts. Good enough for now.
