Sleep schedule settings.

Hi

i have my sleep mode set for a time for Mon-Fri and a different time for Sat/Sun. However sleep mode didn’t turn off at the correct time today. Today (Friday) seems to be being controlled by the times on the Saturday selection NOT the Friday selected times.

Is this happening to anyone else?

  • My sleep is scheduled for all days of the week but no sleep was recorded last night.  I did get a warning that sleep was coming soon.

  • Hi , which version of software do you currently have on your watch? You can check this by going to Main Menu - System - About.

We had some earlier bugs that caused this behavior, however these were resolved before the v7.20 software update. If you are not yet on v7.20, please check this behavior again after your watch is updated. Or if you are already on v7.20, please let me know and I will report this bug to the team. (In this case, it would also be helpful if you could provide us with your Settings.fit file from the Primary\Garmin\Settings folder on the watch. You can attach this file on this thread, or if you prefer you can email it to my team at [email protected]. If you decide to email, please include "Epix Sleep Schedule Settings" in the subject of the email.)

  • I am on 7.2 and have a slightly different issue with sleep mode: I’ve defined my sleep hours as 11p – 7a and as early as 9p last night while I was stationary, the watch went into sleep mode. On the other hand, this morning even after I woke up at 630a (which was acknowledged by the watch, as I saw a sleep summary in Garmin Connect Mobile), the watch stayed in sleep mode

At a minimum, the watch should stick to one behavior (either on the defined schedule or when it detects sleep/wake. Ideally, we would no longer need to enter sleep times (I’m not aware of any other watches that ask this) and the watch would just detect sleep automatically.

UPDATE: In addition, I just got an alert sitting at my desk at 1030a that Sleep Mode is about to start

  • I will check again tonight and then let you know but here is the current settings file.  Thanks for the lightning fast reply!Settings.fit.zip

  • Hi  - the issue you have encountered will be a bit different from the original report at the top of this thread.

Do you have Battery Saver set to automatically enable During Sleep? The default setting for Battery Saver is to disable the heart rate sensor. With HR disabled, sleep will not be able to track.

However, there are many variables that can contribute to sleep failing to track. If the above does not apply to your situation, I encourage you to reach out to Garmin's Product Support. The PS team will be able to troubleshoot this issue with you to determine what may have interfered in your case.

  • Thanks, new to Garmin so lots to learn!

  • This is happening to me on software v7.35.  The watch goes into sleep mode at the correct tine but never comes out of it. My workaround is powercycling the watch and normal operation resumes.....I've just created a post about this......did you ever get a fix as I notice this was happening when you had a much earlier version of the software.

I'll be testing this again tonight having turned the power-saver off within the scheduled sleep mode but surely scheduling the sleep mode to turn off at a certain time should then turn the power saving off too?
