I just unboxed my watch and the bottom right button is nothing like the other buttons. The bottom right button is soft and offers little to no click-resistance. If the other buttons didn't have such a distinct…
For those who do not understand the problem:
Since the key does not have a defined pressure point, the clock is more difficult to operate. For example, if you press the key 3 times to achieve something…
I realized it after this purchase
I did not care this exaggerated problem when had 945, I don't care now when I have Epix.

Thats fine for you, but I do not care at all
Good to know. I had a 945 and because the buttons sucked, I got a fenix 6. The buttons work well with this one. I was thinking bout getting the epix 2, but now that I know about this issue, NO WAY I will spend $1000 on a watch with bad buttons. I will wait until they fix it. This is ridiculous.
on my epix 2 titanium sapphire all 4 buttons feel the same
I bought an Epix and immediately had problems with spongy buttons. Replaced the device for a new one but had the same problem with it as well. Unfortunately, I have experienced the same with my Fenix 6 that I had before.
I do not think that a product for just over $1000 should have these defects. I actually find it a little embarrassing for garmin not to succeed better with the buttons on their most expensive watches.
Now switched instead to a Venu 2 Plus which unfortunately does not have as many functions but instead has the working buttons and at a third of the price approximately.
Fix this now Garmin!
My down and up buttons don’t click and sometimes the back/lap as well. If I’m just sitting playing with the Epix and just hit the buttons repeatedly the feel may change a bit so maybe they’ll break in over weeks of use.
I know the order of my screens during workouts so I like to be able to hit the down or up buttons without looking and then expect the correct screen to be there when I do look down for info. This doesn’t always work with the buttons acting the way they are.
On my F6S Pro, all the buttons are still clicky after two years. On my Epix, only the top left button is very clicky, the top right a little clicky, bottom right a little less clicky, and bottom left not clicky at all. But they all work. I'd like to hear from Garmin whether this is a quality issue or a non-issue.
If Garmin would respond it would save the users from a lot of frustration and them money. I returned my Epix and they replaced it with another new one and the buttons all work as expected. For me, the back button on my original watch never clicked or provided the same feedback as all the other buttons. So for me it indicated a fault which prompted me to either get a refund or an exchange. I opted for an exchange. If Garmin would have told me that the behavior is normal, then I wouldn't have exchanged the watch. I will say that Garmin support was excellent and the exchange process was pain-free.
I talked to garmin support last week about this. They said the button tactile feel and clicks, is actually normal and work as designed for this new watch. We aren't used to it coming from previous models. So this is more of 'getting used to it' vs. thinking it's 'broken.' I told them they should post a sticky at the top of this forums to state this so it's clear to everyone. It's also in their financial interest to reduce RMAs they will lose money on because we all think are buttons are 'broken' and they are not actually.
Sure, just like the marketing, to let you buy a new watch.
