Disable always on mode and gesture mode

Hmm, I was hoping to still use the touchscreen but only when the display was awake after pressing a button. Seems like this might not be possible.

Normally to wake up the screen you need a quick double touch...just touching the screen will not activate it.

You can let the touchscreen be disabled, so you can use a button or the touchscreen (wrote that, because you asked for the only way or I misunderstood your question).
