Class Action Lawsuit? Who's in? No headphones work with this watch in terms of listening to music..

I'm reaching the point where a class action lawsuit may be warranted. I made a significant investment in the Enduro 3, and one of the primary features that influenced my purchase was the ability to listen to music during hikes and runs.

To date, I’ve tested six different pairs of Bluetooth headphones—ranging from high-end to budget models—and none of them maintain a stable connection. The audio consistently cuts out, regardless of the brand or price point. I’ve returned all six to Amazon, and the issue clearly lies with the watch itself, not the headphones.

This is unacceptable for a product at this price point and from a brand with Garmin’s reputation. There needs to be a firmware fix, a recall, or both. At the very least, this issue deserves immediate acknowledgment and resolution. I'm extremely disappointed.

  • Not in the slightest. The lawsuits I have been peripherally involved in were the passive, inbox-clogging variety—typically along the lines of, "This toothpaste may have caused inflammation." Then suddenly, a check for fifty dollars appears because some corporation has been litigated into compliance. I have never initiated a lawsuit myself. In truth, I find lawyers utterly repellent.

As I mentioned in a separate post, there are numerous threads on this forum—created by other users—highlighting the exact same issue. Clearly, this is not some isolated glitch reported by a single outlier. I am extremely tech-savvy, which is precisely why I kept purchasing different earbuds. I needed to methodically test and confirm the root of the problem for myself.

  • Hey man, I get the chuckle behind my class action jab—but real talk, I was starting to lose my damn mind with how much time I spent wrestling with my Garmin gear. I mean, setting up my Edge 1040 felt like assembling IKEA furniture blindfolded. For cycling! Not launching a satellite!

So, I'm genuinely relieved—like deep exhale, soft jazz, bathrobe-level relieved—to finally have a headset that just works. No more troubleshooting. No more pairing rituals under a full moon. Just sweet, sweet audio. And trust me, if I finally cracked the code, you’ll be golden once you grab some Shokz.

Side note (and this is important): skip the OpenRun 1. I tried them first, and they’re... fine. But the OpenRun 2? Game-changer. The bass actually exists this time. I gave my wife the first-gen ones so we can chat during walks and still vibe to some music—but the OpenRun 2s? Chef’s kiss. Still bone conduction, but now with actual soul.

They let in just enough ambient sound to feel alive outside, but still pump in the tunes like a concert in your cheekbones. You gotta try them. Seriously. They’re borderline spiritual.

This certainly provides a great reason for you to add to the clogging, I guess.

  • Just watched the https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LPk_9gPdUog (review of the OpenRun Pro 2) - very impressive. Me thinks combined with your experience and my non-fitting (only when running) Pixel Buds, I'm sold on your recommendation. Thanks again, very appreciated!

With regards to going the legal route against a huge company, my humble advice: not nearly worth the time and effort. If you value your time the way I do, swallowing the "frog" (obviously you curse the sh*t out of it while doing it ...) and trying to forget the anger asap is better for the mental health ... Wink

  • I appreciate your advice and I agree..   I was just getting so frustrated after the last pair that didn't work I let myself vent.. I contacted support today and had a lengthy talk with them about getting it resolved at some point..   Even the customer support agent said they're aware of the issue and investigating it,  so I guess they know it happens.. Will they fix it?  Who knows...

In terms of the openrun 2's-  They may be the most impressive ear phones I've ever used in my life,  and since I'm very active I couldn't be any more thrilled with how easy they are to throw on.  One nice perk is that they pair with multiple devices..   What that means is that I can have Garmin Edge 1040 prompts from my radar system piped from my phone directly to the Shokz and also have music playing from my watch at the same time!   Basically the way it works is both the phone and the watch are feeding audio to the headphones at the same time and when the gramin prompts get sent by connect and phone it mutes the music..  This is great for turn by turn directions on the cycle,  and the best part is,  you can hear ambient noise and stay safe while still hearing full clear music...

The only dowside here is that they're expensive,  but I do believe you get what you pay for here with the 12 hour battery life and comfort and functionality..

  • In case you receive a commission from Shokz, you definitely deserve it ... I'll order them.

  • I appreciate that..  I'm just surprised they've exceeded my expectations in the three days I've owned two pairs.. LOL..  Truth me told I was happy to just find a pair that worked but in the meantime I've discovered new tech that has blown the doors off...  I'm glad you ordered them,  I suggest going straight into the the EQ section of the app once you get them setup and find an eq that is right for your ears..   I made one that sounds perfect with even more bass and crisp highs and even mids,  I'm sure you'll running and gunning in no time..
