15.32 Touch lock inconsistency

Im on 15.32 on my Enduro 3 and find that there is an inconsistency in the touch lock.
When touch lock is enabled I can swipe ONCE either from the top or the bottom of the watch face, with touch working. If I try to swipe a second time, the touch lock icon appears on the top of the screen, and I unlock to continue using touch.

Surely this can’t be right? I imagine that the touch lock icon should appear when I try to swipe the first time, and that one swipe either from the top or the bottom should not be possible until touch is unlocked?

  • Hello

I am sorry to hear you are having this issue. I would love to help investigate this further. For this, I will reach out to you via Private Message to collect the details of this issue.

  • For what it's worth, I'm experiencing the same touch lock behaviour.

  • Do you have auto backlight turned off?

I have it turned off and if I swipe, the issue occurs.
However if I turn the backlight ON before I swipe, the lock works.

  • Interesting find. I have automatic backlight between sun-down and sun-up, otherwise disabled. When I activate the backlight manually, the does works on the watch face as well. When the backlight is off, the touch lock doesn't work on the watch face.

  • Exactly, so the bug seems related to backlight settings.

  • I believe this behaviour is intended and I find it very useful.

Even if the touch is locked, from the watchface I can, just ONCE without unlocking the touch:

    1. long press on items of the watchface to get directly to a specific page
    2. swipe up/down to get to the extra menus

After the first touch, the touch lock icon appears and I need to unlock it if I want to swipe further or do other touch-related things.

Basically, this is a quick way to get to a specific page without having to unlock the touch.
But it is not "dangerous" because nothing can be changed with just ONE touch.

  • I can see this use case, although in my case long press doesn't work with backlight off. In order to be able to long press, I first need to swipe up or down, unlock the screen, swipe back to the watch face and only then the long press works in my case. The other option is to first activate the backlight, then unlock the screen from the watch face before being able to long press.

I do feel that the behaviour should be consistent regardless of the backlight being turned on or off. If that includes being able to long press without unlocking, I'd be more that happy.

  • I’m not convinced since it is related to backlight settings. For me a lock is a lock, not a semi lock, if not specified in the settings that there are multiple levels of lock.

  • Ok, now I understand what you are reporting as a bug:

    A. Backlight/Keys&Touch/On -> both behaviour 1. (long press on items) and 2. (swipe up/down) work
I personally find this behaviour very useful.

    B. Backlight Off -> only behaviour 2. works, while behaviour 1. does not work.
This is a bug, or at least an inconsistency that should be fixed.
