Enduro 3 - Battery replacement

Hello,

Garmin means very robust watches. But the battery will die at some point, and it will after the warranty.

Has anyone thought about/tried replacing the battery on a Garmin? Where can you find the battery? Will Garmin provides spare parts?

There is still screws, so it has been closed and it can be opened. There is probably some glue and quite some sealing.. So it's a tough work, but it should be possible.

Apple have also changed their policy on this!

Best regards

  • There is rolex and other vintage watches that gets services and still ok for diving. this is just sale tactics from tech companies so you upgrade your watch when battery is bad. how much would garmin earn from you when they sell you one watch and you have it for 10-15 years? that is not good for the in the long game.

It was something wrong with your instinct, my gen 1 instinct had almost 10 days per charge and that is with lot of gps acitivity

  • I have a Marq gen 1. It has a 255 mAh battery. I’ve used it 24/7 for 5.5 years now, logging on average 11 hours per week, of which half is GPS. Depending upon season (XC ski, bike, run) more GPS time. Out of curiosity I drained the battery from full to empty doing a GPS log. It gave me 26.5 hours (spec is 28). Then I recharged it fully using an ampere meter. It drew 260 mAh, which is slightly more than the specified 255. Usually I keep my Marq charged between 20 and 80%. To me this sounds like a ten year scenario for an Enduro, that has a battery that is three times larger.
