The fenix 8 is nothing but a disappointment. this is a very basic feature indeed, and since automatic backlighting hasn't been implemented yet, I doubt it ever will. Garmin probably lied on their website…

G shocks have done this for years. Why can’t a $900 watch do it? They had it on the Fenix 7 pro, but got rid of it due to poor implementation. Garmin needs to fix this.
