Enduro 3. Sync fails with long activity.

Reporting a bug. Yesterday I recorded a 9 hour walk which I was navigating using a course I had created in Basecamp. I saved this activity and I can see it on the watch in history and can see the stats etc.

I tried first to transfer the activity to Basecamp on my PC. The activity did not transfer. I then tried to sync on WiFi, then Garmin Express on PC and then via Garmin connect on my iPhone.
Each time it failed either by not completing or with a message. On WiFi the message was that 1 file had not transferred. (Or words to that effect)

I accessed the watch via windows explorer and found the activity as a FIT file in the folder \Internal Storage\GARMIN\Activity\PendingHD. I copied this to my PC and deleted it from the watch.
I was then able to manually import it to Garmin connect on my PC and to Basecamp. The track appears complete with no real issues I can see. No random jumps off track. However in Garmin connect, on PC, it displays some strange icons which I do not understand.

Watch is on latest firmware. I have climbpro enabled.

Previous activities worked fine so far.

Any advice appreciated.

When you open your activity in BC. Does it show the the starting time as 31/12/1989 for every measured point?

For me this happens when I follow a route I previously planned in BC. The watch overwrites the route file and puts bad data into the track information.

Once you upload it to Connect the error is fixed. If I check the .gpx file with a text editor the time in <metadata> is correct but every entry in <trk> is from 31/12/1989. The issue appears to be with the .fit file created by the watch as exiftool and darktable will read the same dates if you attempt to geotag pictures.

I found a post on the garmin Venu Sq forum from over 3 years go. Still not fixed

For me every single run I go on gets put into this "PendingHD" folder, Fenix 8. Because of this not a single run gets synced to my phone. Moving it out of the "PendingHD" folder causes the sync to complete successfully.

The only behavior that was different is that the navigated course completed a few meters before I stopped recording. I will try a few things out and update if I get anything meaningful.

Hi. I had a look in the BC log and all of the points have the correct date and time. The fit file appears to have correct dates. But I don't know how to view the <trk>.
