Software v 11.64 installing now

Installed directly from my Enduro 3 after checking for updates...... will update when install finishes

  • Ok.  I’ve been using the watch with 11.64 installed for a day now.  I charged to 100% after installation.
Looks like it’s still using 5% per day where the Fenix 7x pro SS was using 3-4%.

So the background battery drain is still there unfortunately.

  • I also charged to 100% the morning after installing 11.64.

Last night I did a GPS tracked activity for 1 hours 18 mins, and kept it on the time data screen for minimal drain. Otherwise, I've barely touched it.

Wifi is off, phone connection on with a few smart notifications, gesture off, backlight on for after sunset (although that doesn't work properly yet, so I'm manually using the backlight key when I needed it),  backlight on 20%. Standard garmin watchface with no heart rate or frequently updated data & seconds are off.

I'm just coming up on 48 hours use since fully charging, I've had very little solar over the past 2 days (20k lux max) and it has literally just dropped down to 92%.

So even with the 80 mins GPS tracking I am seeing about 4% per day, which is very similar to my Fenix 7X Solar, but suggests only 25 days use is possible at the moment

  • Fairly similar to me, WiFi off, backlight on for after sunset which doesn’t work and not a lot of solar yesterday, just an hour strength activity and lost 5% battery over the last 24 hours. Same usage with my 7 pro solar 47mm was around 6% per day and got 18 days out of it. With this advertised at 36 days without any solar I just can’t see that happening at the moment.

  • 100 to 90 in one day, 1.5hrs GPS activity.(satiQ) + external hrm.

90 to 85 on day 2 with 3h,45m GPS only and 56klux solar.

This was a pattern on my old f7 too -- it would drain from 100 to 85 or so in one day, then stabilize at like 6-7% per day, depending on activity. Started after about 1.5 years of use.

In any case, if the battery on the E3 doesn't perform as advertised, I'll be returning mine at the end of the return window. It's a great watch in many ways though.

  • Agreed.  The whole point of this watch is that it is supposed to have a longer battery life than the Fenix 7x/8x.  That's the only reason I switched to it from my Fenix 7x pro SS.  If that isn't the case, then I'm not sure why the Enduro 3 exists really.

  • And certainly longer than my old non-pro 47mm. So far the drain has been comparable.

There are inevitably software optimization issues that come with a new operating system. Those, I imagine, will get fixed sooner or later. However, I won't take chances in case the problem is on the hardware side.

Thankfully, so far, no crashes or lost data.

  • Same here. Marginally better or on par with my 7X PRO SS. Not a chance of getting the advertised 36 days. It’s just a 7X PRO SS with improved solar. And in my testing it is much improved. I’ll be keeping mine. Great watch but expected more from the battery life.

  • Same here but before the update - 100% for h8:30 3% by 10 am 5% all on minimum
