Live tracking the planned route is not shown

On my phone, I selected Live tracking in Safety & Tracking in Garmin Connect, turned on Show course and clicked on the Start LiveTrack button. On the watch, I selected Walk. In Options, I selected Navigation, Courses, selected the planned route and checked Do Course. I pressed start, walked and stopped. On the LiveTrack there was only my walked route, but not the planned route. What am I doing wrong? Is it a bug? The watch has firmware 17.23,.

It only shows the route when the activity is active I think, if you stop and end the activity it no longer shows

I also checked it during an activity and it does not show the planned route (purple trail). My colleague who has a Fenix 6 livetrack does not show the planned route either.

I need this when I am going to walk/run long distances so that my companions know where I am going to walk/run.

It was working for runs for me recently, I'll check it this weekend on a run.

Just tested walk and run - I am seeing a course

I go Walk or Run - then courses then do course

Check on Connect (More - Safety And Tracking - Livetrack) has Show Course - On

Dont click Start Live track there BEFORE starting the activity - Starting the activity should do it automatically - you're starting Live Track BEFORE the activity and thats why the course isnt showing - make sure Auto Start is on instead

So In Connect under More - Safety and Tracking - Live track

Switch SHOW COURSE and AUTO START on

That will mean the watch will start live track when an activity starts - you dont start it first

Then on the watch, go to Run or Walk, load the course and when you press START to start the activity it will automatically trigger the Live Track to start,send the links and show the course
