HR keeps cadence locking

Enduro 2 has recently started cadence locking very frequently, often showing elevated heart rates for several minutes before returning to normal. Weather hasn’t been too cold and I wear the watch snug. Cleaned the sensor and reset the watch. Same issue. Anyone else having issues?

  • I have permanently turned off the wrist HR monitor because it constantly reads around 180 when I run and it has completely ruined my stats. It also measures similarly when I walk. Instead of 100, it measures 120-130. The first year was fine. Maybe 2-3 times it happened that I had weird measurements. But after a year of use, it started happening 2-3 times a week at first, until it started happening almost every day. I don't know if there is any point in returning the watch for repair because they will tell me that the pulse meter is working as it should.

  • I have been having the same experience.  I've worn Garmin products for YEARS - Fenix 3, 5X, and my Enduro2 is the first time I've ever had this happen no matter how snug I keep it!

Couple things about it - it isn't consistently at the start of a run.  But I find that to be the most damaging as I'm not sure if I'm caught up in the pace of others in a race or just my watch is acting up!

Below is what I'll typically see - it will jump to my cadence and for reasons I just don't understand it will revert back.

  • Yeah same deal, many garmin optical HR sensors, first time I've had this experience. Very rarely happens at the start of the run, but also always seems to make it's way back to normal?

Extra frustrating since it messes up all of the workout recommendations and fitness measures.

  • Our engineering team is wanting to further investigate concerns with the Wrist HR accuracy since the latest 16.22 SW update. So they are requesting, anyone experiencing this to please contact Garmin Product Support to discuss the details. This will allow us to better research the cause. Thank you in advance.
