Weird Altimeter behavior during cycling (bug?)

Turning on the gps elevation correction in garmin connect (Web version) shows the correct 10m of elevation gain.

Today i covered the watch under my jacket on my way to work and it worked. The elevation matched what my FR955 showed (not covered with the jacket though).

That suggests, that the barometer is overly sensitive to wind, this is chilled out commute, no race with high speeds. And also no weird weather, mostly sunny with little wind.

So after talking to Garmin they told me:

Because the Barometer ist located on the right side of the watch, as opposed to the bottom on the FR955, wearing the watch on the left arm while cycling results in those readings due to the wind blowing in the barometer. You are supposed to wear the watch on the right arm or put in an the handle bar while cycling.

The support also said that those are minor inaccuracies, which is kind of absurd considering this was a 6km ride. extrapolate this and you get  700m of extra elevation on a 100km ride. I would not consider this minor.

I use an Edge computer when i do serious cycling so that would not happen to me, but how are triathletes dealing with this? I dont see them putting their watch on the handle bar.

It don't unterstand why Garmin puts the barometer at this exposed position in the first place. Other brands put them next to where the strap is mounted, seems way less exposed to wind.

I have also noticed these imperfections on my Enduro, I will have to protect the watch from the wind. It's ridiculous.

I think most of you are exaggerating guys. I've never had any problem with enduro even if i blow it in the holes after i clean it with water. the only problem i was have one time was with a sensor drop out. Nothing so far. And the altimeter works excellent.

Did you solve this in any way? Is it still like this today? Garmins response is very weird.
