HRM cracks/scratches

My Enduro2 has what looks like cracks/scratches on the circular heart rate monitor on the back.

One of them seems particularly deep. I can't imagine I have caused them as I look after it so well. It's not been on the beach etc, or in any dusty environment.

They seem to be getting worse? I'm unsure if it was even supplied with it like this, I only noticed it a short while ago when cleaning it. I've not owned it long and am quite concerned about them?

Anyone else had this problem?

  • 我去定制了软膜贴在心率模块玻璃上,作为保护层,目前没发现裂痕或划痕

  • This is a recurrent issue on many garmin watches. Personally I've seen it on a FR35 and a FR735XT. The reason is probably some chemical reaction between sweat and the plastic cover of the sensor. I contacted garmin support about it, and they said that if the HR sensor works normally, then this is only an aesthetical issue and not subject to warranty repair/replacement. However when I expressed my concern about retaining water resistance, garmin support agreed to replace the watch under warranty, no further questions asked.

So to sum it up: This is a common issue. If you are worried about it, contact garmin support.

  • Thank you for the picture. I am sorry there is an issue.

Going back in time, your OHR sensor does not match the superficial cracking that was seen on the Fenix 5X watch 3 generations back. Back then, it was the very thin protective layer on top of the OHR sensor glass that developed dozens of superficial cracking but the OHR sensor continued working properly. It was strictly visual.

I cannot find any reports for the OHR rear cover for the Fenix 6/ Enduro first generation or for the Fenix 7/Enduro 2.

If you haven't already, please reach out to Outdoor Product Support in your region and provide them with your picture. Thank you!
