Enduro 2 battery experience

Realize it is early days, but wondering how Enduro 2 owners are finding the battery life so far? I want to get one of these for travel so I can avoid charging in dodgy locations with questionable electric current.

  • 13.22 update has doubled my battery usage, I previously used 20% a week and I’m now using 40%. I used to easily get 3 weeks use between charges! Seem a lot of Epix and Fenix owners are also suffering

  • I don't have any problem. Forums here is full of nonsense battery drains but in my experience the most of them have nonsense data fields or trash watchfaces.

  • Race 1 was just under 13 hours in duration. I did use navigation but never the map as I've done the race a few times before and knew the course. Bluetooth to phone was connected as well as a Stryd footpod. I used oHR and no other sensors, or backlight, or page scrolling, etc. I used SatIQ for satellite selection.  The route is mostly open skys with no cloud coverage that day and with little tree coverage for the most part. Id say getting locations should have been relatively easy 80% of the time. However, This activity ate through 40% of my battery and it was a very sunny day. Nearly 200k lux hrs showed on the watch for the day. Needless to say I was pretty disappointed. I wanted to verify this wasn't the norm, even though based on most of my runs I was worried it would be. So I figured I'd wait to see what the next race showed. Race 2 was a 24hr looped ultra. This time I only used oHR with no bluetooth or any sensors connected to the watch. No navigation or map use at all. Once again I used SatIQ for satellite detection. To be fair this course was under much more tree cover and there was minimal sun most of the time. The activity was just over 24hrs and it ate through 72% of the battery.

Dont know what you're doing with your setting - I posted my last ultra - 16 hours and 17% usage (charted via a third party field).... Thats with full navigation, pace and climb pro.

Try a restart? Something is eating battery it shouldnt.

  • Around around 1% per hour with navigation seems to be better than the reported spec. Adam as that would put you on course for nearly 90 hours battery at that burn rate…

I wonder if your 3rd battery datafield is mis or underreporting your usage? The battery life it reported as you are using navigation too just seems a bit unlikely?

If you have DCRs tool you can parse the battery usage without 3rd party datafields? it would be intersting to see if your datafield and his tool agree with each other

  • Hi, I've been injured for over a month and can't train. So the watch just runs as a "smartwatch" using only the heart rate sensor, but without the use of GPS, pulse oximeter, etc. So far the Enduro 2 has lasted 34 and a half days and still has about 3 days left. I have updated FW recently and run 13.22. See photo.

    Battery Info

  • Is this a widget or a default screen ??

  • Yes, it's a widget of the CIQ app Battery Info I use. Link: https://apps.garmin.com/en/apps/1643a8ec-cc25-4757-9c1e-31b9211b47a3

Anyway, I use standard Garmin built in watch face (no CIQ).
